Privacy in the Ledger
This notice explains the information involved when you read the website, prepare a message or contact the editorial address.
Who is responsible
Zandumiventur Heritage Ltd, 9 Market Street, Durham, DH1 3AA, United Kingdom, company no. 14963852, is responsible for the personal information it processes in connection with zandumiventur.forum. Contact [email protected] with privacy questions or rights requests.
Reading the website
Delivering a web page involves technical information such as your IP address, requested path, browser information and request time. Hosting infrastructure may process this information in operational and security logs. We use such information where necessary to provide the website, investigate faults and protect it from abuse, relying on legitimate interests in running a secure publication.
The published pages do not include analytics trackers, advertising scripts, external fonts or embedded social-media widgets. Images, styles and scripts are requested from this website. See Cookie Settings Explained for information about browser storage.
The local contact tool
Text entered into the message tool is processed in your browser. The tool does not submit the fields to a server, send email or save them in cookies or localStorage. It holds the working message in the current page. Your browser may separately offer autofill or restoration of form fields under your own browser settings.
Copy Message asks your browser to put the generated text on your clipboard. Save Message creates a plain-text download on your device. Clipboard managers, synced clipboards and downloaded files are controlled by your device and services. Take care when using a shared computer.
If you email us
If you choose to send an email, we receive the information you include, your email address and associated message metadata. We use it to respond, investigate corrections and maintain relevant editorial correspondence. Our lawful basis is our legitimate interest in managing enquiries and improving the publication, or compliance with a legal obligation where applicable.
We do not need sensitive personal data for ordinary editorial enquiries. Please do not send identity documents, medical information or other sensitive material unless a specific, appropriate arrangement has been made.
Recipients and retention
Hosting and email service providers may process technical or correspondence data on our behalf. Information may also be disclosed where required by law or necessary to establish, exercise or defend legal claims. We do not sell personal information.
Correspondence is kept only for as long as reasonably needed for the enquiry, related editorial records or legal obligations. Relevant correction evidence may need to be retained longer than routine correspondence. Technical logs should be limited to operational and security needs. Retention is reviewed according to purpose rather than treating every message as a permanent record.
Where a provider processes personal information outside the United Kingdom, applicable transfer safeguards are required, such as an adequacy arrangement or approved contractual protections.
Your rights
Depending on the circumstances, you may request access, correction, deletion, restriction or portability of your personal information, and object to processing based on legitimate interests. These rights have legal conditions and exceptions. We may request proportionate information to confirm identity before disclosing personal data.
You may complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk. You can contact us first, but you are not required to do so before approaching the regulator.
External links and changes
When you follow an external source link, the destination has its own privacy practices. We do not control those services. This notice may be updated when the website’s processing changes; the date above identifies the current version.
